Wyre Forest Welcomes Refugees (WFWR) has been providing support to people seeking sanctuary since 2016 across Kidderminster, Stourport, Bewdley and all the surrounding villages. The group is completely volunteer led.

In 2024 a group of likeminded organisations decided to create a Community of Sanctuary with WFWR as the registered body.
